The final sprint was first launched by Silvan Dillier (BMC) and was quickly covered by Jasper Stuyven (Trek-Segafredo). Try as he might, Lukas Postlberger (Bora-Hansgrohe) just didn't have anything left in the legs to go with the last of his break away companions. Dillier was able to hold of Stuyven as they sprinted stroke for stroke for the last hundred meters. As they crossed the line each used their arms to show their emotions, one slamming the bars, the other throwing his arms wide. All of it was watched by the race commissare standing up through his car's sunroof.
