Greig Leach

This painting is also the first in an intended series of works using famous paintings from art history as the jumping off point. In the past, while creating several different works I have realized that the composition (or at least certain elements) reminded me of paintings that I have long admired. With this series I have decided to flip that idea and start out with a known image and see where it takes me. You may recognize elements of Renoir's "The Boating Party" a work I have seen many times at the Phillips Collection in Washington, DC. This painting is created on d'Arches Tout en Cas 100% rag paper with Shiva Paintstiks.
