Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) started the day with bib number one, the number reserved for the defending Tour champion from the year before. In fact, Pogacar is the champion of the last two Tours and if today's ride is anything to go by, he is well on his way to making it three in a row. He finished his race through Copenhagen in second place as he crossed the line. Only the stage winner and Wout Van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) were able to out ride the Slovenian on the wet roads of northern Europe. He may have been seven seconds out of the Maillot Jaune, but he is leading all of the general classification hopefuls by at least nine seconds and many by considerably more.
