Thomas Voeckler (Direct Energie) may well be the on-the-road captain of the team, but he wasn't above being the one to collect everyone's jackets and pass them back to the team car. Voeckler has been hanging around the back of the peloton for most of the Tour and is already over eight minutes off of the time of the race leader, Peter Sagan (Tinkoff). Voeckler seemed to be using the "sticky bottle" technique of holding onto the jackets and the hand of his race director, just to get a little push from the car. Technically, this is an illegal move, but short pushes are tolerated, however when Vincenzo Nibali (Astana) held onto his car for several kilometers he was thrown out of the Vuelta d'Espania one year.
