After years of dominating the sprints of the Tour only to never wear a Yellow Jersey, finally, today's victory also puts him in the Maillot Jaune that he has always hoped for. He has stated that he has two goals for his 2016 season, one to win a Yellow Jersey in the Tour and the other, to win gold in Rio. He is now half way there! Cavendish sprinted pass a fading Marcel Kittel (Etixx-Quickstep) and Peter Sagan (Tinkoff) to claim the stage into Utah Beach. The only sprinter who was close to matching the speed of the Manx Missile was the Gorilla himself, Andre Greipel. Alas, Greipel had started from too far back to get better than fourth on the day. With an up hill sprint to the line tomorrow, it is doubtful that Cavendish will hold Yellow, but then he was considered a long shot for today...
