The French will have to consul themselves with a Maillot Jaune, but no stage win on Bastille Day. Behind the South African Champion was a clearly exhausted Tiesj Benoot (Lotto Soudal). Both climbed up the general classification with the top of the GC coming in a full sixteen minutes after this pair crossed the line in Brioude.
