Marc Hirschi (Sunweb) could not have been very happy to look over his shoulder to see four guys coming across to him. He has been off the front all day, most of it on his own. And now, with just two and a half kilometers to go the marquee riders of the Tour were almost on his wheel. After trying to push on, he sat up and waited for the quartet, figuring he could get on their wheels and then count on his sprinting prowess to still give him the stage win he has been dreaming of for the last hours.
