Today's breakaway split up on the one climb on the circuit course in Napoli as Cameron Wulf (riding for Cannondale) raced ahead for the mountain top points. Finding himself alone at the top he decided to try an win the race on a lone breakaway. He managed to keep the peleton away for 25 kilometers longer than his former breakaway mates, but in the end he got sucked up with 20 kilometers to go. This is an original watercolor and ink postcard and is one of nine that I painted during the first stage of the 2013 Giro. I have later learned that the rider's last name is Wurf, but I still like the title.
